How keys work in DMZ

• Keys open special loot rooms around Hajin.
• Every key's description lists a map grid. Letters run west to east, numbers run north to south; D7, for example, is Imjin Farmland.
• A door that is locked from the inside means there is another way in. In rural and wooded areas, look out for underground entrances.
• Lieutenants can drop the key to their own loot room. If a Lieutenant didn't drop their weapon, search the body: the room usually holds it.
• Police Stations have a locked Armory.
• Three keys come in DMZ level reward kits: Gun Store Weapons Locker Key (levels 16 and 42), Police Station Key (level 19) and Black Market Weapons Locker Key (level 46).
• You can store keys in your Stash at the FOB between deployments.

I just looted a key: what now?

• Inspect the key in your backpack and note the grid in its description.
• Search the key name or grid here. The quick answer shows the door, threat level and our worth-it rating.
• Check the threat before you go. Extreme areas, such as the Chang-san Air Base bunker and the Netshin Tech Complex, are not for a fresh loadout.
• Not going this run? Put the key in a Secure Slot or extract and stash it. Anything outside a Secure Slot is lost if you fail to exfil.

About the worth-it ratings

S, A, B and C are our editorial opinion, based on reported loot, threat level and how hard the room is to reach. Most keys show "Not rated yet" until we know what the rooms hold.

• Grids for most keys (only a handful are reported so far).
• Whether keys break, and how many uses each one has.
• What each room contains.
• Which doors the Bank Branch Vault Access, Gun Store, Black Market and Police Station keys open.
